Mantalai-SudhMahadev—A very famous Pilgrimage in Jammu Kashmir
14Mantalai,Situated a few kilometers further away from Sudh Mahadev
, Mantalai is surrounded by lush deodar forests, at an altitude of over 2000 metres.
It is believed that Lord Shiva had got married to the Goddess Parvati here.
Legend goes like this,One day while’ Mata Parvati’ was passing through these dense forests, demon ‘Sudhant’s’ evil eyes fell on her and he chased her. To Her utter agony,
‘Mata Parvati’ cried terribly, “Oh Lord Shiva, save me from the cruel hands of the demon.” ‘Lord Shiva “ who was in his deep meditation and sensing the helping voice emanate His anger and got infuriated and let loose his tridant (trishul) which instantly decapped demon’s head who in turn cried agonistically, “Lord Shiva”, “Lord Shiva”.
Hearing his deplorable voice, the lord realized that He has killed his own worshipper and He, therefore, came to ‘Sudhant’ and promised to bring him back to his life. But in the arbitrary prayed overwhelmingly and said, “Oh my lord, I am fortunate enough to have been, killed piously”. Lord Shiva thus gave His divinity at that place and so the name of the sacred shrine thence forth called as ‘Sudhmahadev’.
Lord Shiva married to the Goddess Parvati in the region of Mantalai. There are number of Shiv temples abound the region. The Sudh Mahadev Temple lies close to the town of Mantalai. The ancient place of worship is said to be 2800 years old. Pilgrims flock in the region in the full moon night in the month of August. Wading through the River Devika that
flow by the temple, the pilgrims enter the Sudh Mahadev Temple to offer their prayers to the black marbled Shivling in the temple. The temple is eight kilometers away from the town of Mantalai and the Gauri Kund Spring. The spring is sacred to the Hindu devotees, as it is believed that the Goddess Parvati would bathe in the waters of the spring before offering her prayers to the Lord Shiva.
Insides of the temple is beauteous and enthralling with black idol of ‘Lord Shiva’ and ‘Mata Parvati’ mounted on ‘Nandigan’ and this idol has been excavated from insides of Mantalai. The Lord’s tridant is well in existence which is reported of 16th -17th century back. The broken trident is in three pieces sanctimoniously embedded within the complex of the temple and the top part of Trishul is having a height around eight feet or so.
India’s one of the great Yoga teacher,Dhirendra Brahmachari had tried his best, when he was alive to establish a Yoga centre in Mantalai which is now in deep shambles at present,As he is no more alive. He was born in Bihar in 1924 in District Madhubani, village – Dhanushi Chanpura. He left home in the age of 13 and went to Varansi . He died in controversial circumstances in an aircrash in the 1994.
He was a charishmatic yoga teacher who befriended the Nehru-Gandhi Family. He was also the personal tutor of Indira Gandhi. It was rumored that he had an affair with Indira gandhi, In 1982-83, during the tenure of Indira Gandhi, Brahmachari ran an immensely popular weekly yoga program on Doordarshan.
Dhirendra Brahmachari used to run an arms factory in Jammu. He owned his own personal aircraft and was into major money laundering. His Ashram in Mantalai, Udhampur, was closed after his death and is still not open. He developed this place as a center for yoga several steps were taken. But his dreams remain dreams not only for him but for the whole state.
There is no plausible explanation either why the infrastructure raised by the late Dhirendra Brahmachari at Mantalai should remain unutilised. It includes a building for a hotel and one goshala. The Government should consider executing a scheme for exploiting these resources through public-private partnership. We have a rare natural bounty in our vicinity. Nothing should be left undone to make the most of it.
Now Swami Ramdev have shown some interest in developing this beautiful place. Dhirendra Brahmachari’s death in a plane crash stopped the development of the ashram. A few days ago when Swami Ramdev arrived here in Jammu. The local people requests him to develop this dream project of Late Dhirendra Brahmachari and Swami Ramdev have accepted the proposal rather I should say proposal put by locals. Now this dream project will soon comes to reality If everything goes fine.
The ashram is spread in almost 1600 canals. Ramdev said that the Center for Yoga and no place can be better than Mantalai.Lets hope for the best and our biased govt. shows some interest in this and helps Swami Ramdev to develop this place as a Yoga Centre.

Jammu-The Land of Cheap Leaders
0Jammu which is known as the city of temples, should know change this name and be called as THE LAND OF CHEAP LEADERS or rather I should say THE LAND OF CHEAP POLITICS.As per abraham lincoln,Public sentiment is everything. With public sentiment nothing can fail; without it nothing can succeed. He who molds public sentiment goes deeper than he who enacts statutes or decisions possible or impossible to execute. But here in Jammu, leaders do their best to exploit this sentiment, just for their own benefit.
A should have some qualities like Future Focussed,Level Headed, self aware, unselfish, caring, broad minded, make practical decisions, clear vision, confident, optimistic, ready to give sacrifice for his/her followers.Does any Jammu leaders have single such quality?I hadnt found any such quality in any leader so far.
After Amarnath’s Land Row Agitation in 2008,we can find hundreds of Leaders in every nook and corner of the Jammu Province. Are these leaders worth for anything? They are here just for politics and that too not for the welfare of Jammuities but for the well being of themselves. As per Abraham Lincoln, Politics is like You may fool all the people some of the time, you can even fool some of the people all of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all the time. Now lets talk about the student leaders in Jammu, who claim themselves as the student’s voice. But these so called Student leaders are here just for politics and even the worst thing thing is that they are supported by the political leaders.
As per American Priest,Theodre
The very essence of leadership is that you have to have vision. You can’t blow an uncertain trumpet. And these student leaders don’t have any vision and loves to blow their own trumpet.they know only two things i.e., burning of effigies of VC of Jammu University and boycotting the Classes.Even forcibly asks other students to boycott their class even if they are not interested in their cheap Politics.
As the Final exam’s time is approaching, all these students have once again started coming out of their dens and started demanding of Open choice. These so called leaders are saying that ‘open choice’ is their ‘’genuine demand’’ and it should be accepted by the authorities.Every year during the exams time, this shit happens.I was so sure about this too, even I clearly mentioned that in the Central University Issue article. Why cant they stop playing such foul game every year and why we follow them?
At present, this demand was only raised by JJSF(JAMMU JOINT STUDENT FEDERATION) some weeks ago.
And these leaders are giving excuses that due to the late declaration of results by the university the academic session was
not started in time and only 50% of their syllabus is completed.Alongwith that they didn’t forget to add one more excuse i.e.,their studies also suffered for over two months due to the agitation over the Central university issue. So their demand is very genuine and it has to be accepted.
Let me now share my experiences with Pune University,When I enrolled for Pune university,There use to be a boycott of classes due to some fee issues for few weeks.
but no one demand of open choice there because the student leaders there don’t play cheap politics as we are seing here in Jammu. As everyone must be knowing how vast engineering
syllabus as compared to others and few weeks of boycott matters a lot and semester lasts for 4-5 months only. And one more incident, who can forget that Swine flu scare in Pune last year and whole Pune was completely shut down for 1 month completely but still no one demanded of open choice or reduction in syllabus, not even a single voice comes out.And one more thing,I don’t know in any of our semester our whole syllabus is completed but still no one asks of reduction in syllabus or like anything. But here in Jammu, everyone finds some excuses to have reduction in syllabus/open choice.
I know most of Students don’t support these leaders but why don’t they come forward and send some anonymous letters to VC that we don’t want open choice or like that.I know its difficult to come forward as these leaders enjoying the support of Big Guns Of Jammu, but there are many ways to put your voice which I mentioned before but we don’t have to forget that NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE IN THIS WORLD.If you want good future then you have to come forward and have to show these leaders a mirror.
We always say that Jammu University lacks infrastructure, exposure etc.Jammu University is having everything but the problem is that we Jammuities lacks everything.STOP SUPPORTING THESE CHEAP LEADERS.
But do remember one thing that Its your future which these leaders just for their own benefits had put on stake.think twice before joining them.Dont follow these shortcuts to get good marks.Marks is not everything in life, knowledge is everything.
Statistics show that lots of students suffer from anxiety due to the examination pressuresbut that doesnt matter you start following these shortcuts to get good marks. The more chronic ones may even turn suicidal. You must be knowing about Bill Gates who was among the lowest in his class in school. Now, he is the proud owner of Microsoft and creates a major impact to the world. As I said before, marks aren’t everything! It is not about failing but it is about falling and getting up again. It signifies a new beginning. The examinations not only test your IQ but also your attitude. But this open choice doesnt test anything.
Create memories that you can smile about in the future as you go through your album. And you shouldnt have to regret about anything. When you get matured and look back, maybe then, you fully understand that marks are seriously not everything.
Rest is yours Choice,Its your life and you know whats right or wrong.
Anyways all the best for your upcoming exams:)
Bye
United Jammu Kashmir
6Separation of Telangana State from Andhra Pradesh is one of the most talked issue at present in India.Central Govt. is trying its best to solve the matter as soon as possible. Andhra Pradesh consists of three distinct regions, namely, Andhra,Rayalseema and Telangana. Andhra and Rayalseema were part of Madras province of the British empire. For approximately 400 years, Telangana was part of Hyderabad State, an independent kingdom ruled by Muslim Qutub Shahi and Nizam dynasties.Andhra and Rayalaseema were separated from Madras State in 1953. Andhra state (Andhra and Rayalaseema) was the first state that was formed purely on linguistic nationality, like many European states. Later Andhra merged with Telangana in 1956, based on their linguistic and national affinity, to form the present state of Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad as the capital city.
Because of this issue, some protests started taking place demanding the separate states, in many places in India, like Bundelkhand from UP,Gaurkhaland from West Bengal,Vidarbha from Maharashtra and few more. Demand of separation of these states are increasing day by day at every nook and corner of India which is not a good sign for India. As we all know how Britishers enters India and conquered our country and ruled us for around 3 centuries.
There should be no anger or violence. You cannot expect the government or politicians to inculcate these things in you. This has to come from within you.Indian Politicians have done mastery in this field by exploting us on the name of religion, language, caste etc. First learn to love your country, your people. You can then extend this love to others. The saying, ” Janani janmabhoomishcha swargadapi gariyasi , well illustrates this sentiment. Janani (mother) and janmabhoomi (motherland) are more exaggerated than even swarg (heaven).
Lets now take our state Jammu and Kashmir for instance. There is talk of trifurcating the state into Jammu , Kashmir and Ladakh (UT status)- there is a proposal to even designate an area exclusively for the Kashmiri Pandits(idea proposed by Panun Kasmir in 1991). It is dangerous to territorially segregate Hindus, Muslims and Buddhists. Everyone knows what happened when a composite India was divided into two nations – with Pakistan becoming a Muslim nation.
But the situation in Jammu Kashmir is totally different from other states of India.Demand of trifurcating Jammu Kashmir had stated taking place in the year of 1966,when some parts of Himachal have to be merged with Jammu to form a Separate Duggar State had voiced. But somehow, this voice had disappear and now as the issue of Telangana is heating up.Voice of separate Jammu State has once again coming on the top of Desk. And the report of Working Committee which had been tabled some weeks ago has put an oil into fire,As everyone is against Autonomy, in Jammu and Ladakh.Dont know why Central Govt. is not thinking on this issue at present. Why are they Waiting for the worst time to come? Its the right to solve this issue as soon as possible.
As everyone knows,If there is a division of J&K,then there will be no doubt communal riots can take place not only in J&K but in Whole India as well which is not good for secular India. Geographical division on the basis of religion is wrong. Communal peace has to come from within. The people themselves have to realise that living together is in their common interest.
India embraces all religions, all cultures, all languages, and encourages every living thing to live under an umbrella of free thinking and grow according to their internal ability without the hindrance of man-made theory or pressures. That is the reason why India is so colorful, so vibrant and so unique.
As one of shloks(couplets) in Atharva Veda. Its rightly teaches us:-
Jammuities demanding separate state giving an excuse that there is a discrimination with Jammu. No doubt there is a discrimination with Jammu, but demand of separate state is not an answer to this problem. We talk about Identity Crisis,Yes there is an Identity crisis but who is responsible for that crisis “We” or Government or Kashmiris?
Are we (here specially Jammuities who talks of Dogra Pride) united enough to get rid of all these disciminations JK govt. are doing with us.We ourselves don’t give any respect to our culture, language etc. and blame Govt. about that.In my opinion, its crap. The respect for our own culture and language has to come inside of us.This respect neither Govt. nor Separate State wil give you.About this,I mentioned clearly in my previous article(Jammu’s Identity Crisis).
Even if we get a separate Jammu state,I Don’t see there will be any future as there is no good leader to lead us.
Most of us suffer from an Identity crisis, but we are responsible for that,You have to accept that. But we are Indians first and only after that we are Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists,Dogras,Kashmiris,Ladakhis,Punjabi or followers of any other faith. Thats why a national identity and love for the nation is important. The state of Jammu and Kashmir has for years been home to people from all these faiths and always believe in secularism. It should continue that way.But thanks to Hurriyat Conference,Pakistan supported Millitants,NC,Congress,BJP,Panthers,JSM etc..Just for their own benefits dividing us on the name of religion and language.
Each and every region of our state portrays different customs and traditions. But though we speak different languages yet we are all “JKities”.
‘Unity in Diversity’ has been the distinctive feature of our culture. To live peacefully has been our motto. There is no doubt that In India No one can claim single identity because one has many identities in India. One who demands single identity i.e. national identity and everyone has to respect and love that is INDIAN Identity.
Dr A P J Abdul Kalam points out that ” The Nation Is Bigger Than The Individual“. He believes that by loving your country, you will come to love all its constituents, regardless of caste or community.
Be United and Feel the Difference.
Jai Jammu.
Jai Hind.

- WHO ARE WE?
We are the youth of Jammu, who are pursuing their studies and are doing their jobs outside Jammu and some of them are even outside the country. We dream of A clean, pollution free, corruption free and Happy Jammu again which we used to read in history books.
What makes us to dream ?
The humiliation and identity crisis we feel when we move out of Jammu, that makes us to think.
- Whats our Identity?
- Who are we?
- Where are we from?
These questions makes us to think at that time, the culture, the language and the history whom we thought as something like as untouchable in our childhood, now feels that we really missed the sweetness and beautifulness of our language, culture and the history. So its the right time we youth unitedly comes forward and bring back the glory which our motherland and mother tongue wants. So lets join hands and Pledge to Redefine Jammu so that the coming generation doesn’t feel that identity crisis when they move out of Jammu in near Future like us.
Youth are young guns and its proven that they can turn any stones around. Politics in India and specially in JK is full of corruption. They still have Orthodox way of thinking and they think in their old fashioned way.In developing country like India, we need developed mind instead of corroded and corrupt minds. The youth has to become a part of the politics to facilitate the reconstruction of a better society and a country . The main reasons for youth not comming in the politics are :
Lack of financial support
Lack of family and peer support
Poor reputation of polticians
The family members restrict the youth from entering the politics because of some ill consequences, which the present politicians has created and lack of security . The poor reputation of politicians acts as the detterent to new aspirers who doesnt want to get indulged lest they will be branded with bad character. so many other reasons are their which prevent the youth from entering the politics. The combined model of both old aged and youth will make a good show as the old are also required to train the youth .
But for it, the entire educated people have to change his/her attitude to the politics. Everyone in India usedto say politics is bad and bla bla, no one want to come in this and change it into good. We are responsible for India’s current situation. We blame politician they are corrupted, but when its come to us we say “Why should we Bring the change and alone one cant bring that change”.All well educated people talk about politics but if you ask them why dont you join politics and bring that change.Their reply is somewhat like politics is not for a good man.
So please first of all change this attitude. If u cant then you dont have the right to abuse politicians and the existing system.

The text of the speech by Dr Abdul Kalam is given below which i copied from his site,Read it carefully:

It doesnt matter who you are,
You will achieve if you work for it.
Plant a tree and plant an idea
Dear members of Action 2020 – UnConference 2009 organized by the India Vision Group and the 35 partner organizations who are working on bringing societal transformation through achievers, intellectuals and other contributors, my greetings to all of you. I am very happy to communicate with all of you telephonically, when you have assembled at Chennai and discussing on how to achieve Vision 2020 with peoples participation.
On 15 Jan 2009, I inaugurated the Youth Meet at Pune and interacted with nearly 1500 youth. The theme, I selected for the youth was, the ignited minds of the youth is the most powerful resource, on the earth, above the earth and under the earth. Here it was important to remember, the powerful call given by Swami Vivekananda how has all the knowledge in the world been gained but by the concentration of the power of the mind? The world is ready to give up its secret if we only know, how to knock, how to give it the necessary blow. The strength and force of the blow come through concentration. There is no limit to the power of the human mind. The more concentrated it is, the more power is brought to bear on one point that is the secret.
When I put forth this thought to the young, there was tremendous enthusiasm and the youth repeated the statement. Then I brought out the power of three great minds:
1.It doesn’t matter who you are, you will achieve if you work for it.Mario Capecchi, a street boy becomes a noble prize winner in 2007 for his remarkable work on Gene targeting which can be used to cure diseases such as cancer.
2. Failure didnt deter him. Srinivasa Ramanujam with his best capability generated his own equations and became an expert in number theory. He failed in his FA Exam, but he didn?t bother. Mathematics became his friend. He saw divinity associated with each number. He became a renowned number theorist and a great mathematician recognized by the world of mathematics including Royal society.
3.Plant a tree and plant an idea – Prof Wangari Maathai had a passion for environment and bio-diversity and has been contributing to the sustainable development and growth of planet Earth through tree plantation. She has been instrumental in getting 31 million trees planted in 20 countries in African region. She won the Nobel Prize for this unique contribution of environmental upgradation. With these three thoughts, It doesnt matter who you are, you will achieve if you work for it. Failure didnt deter him and Plant a tree and plant an idea the 1500 youth at Pune were fully ignited; they were all asking tell us, what we can give?
I asked the audience, why dont you young boys and girls share your experience. One girl got up and introduced herself, she is from rural Maharashtra. She said, Mr. Kalam, let me share with you what myself and my classmates have done. There is a hospital in our small town, where the entire place is dirty and the patients are not at all cared for. Seeing the situation, the student community decided to go to the hospital once in a week, to clean up the entire place including toilets. And we also provide necessary help to the patients, such as: communicating with their relatives, drying their clothes, bringing the medicines, giving them a feeling of cheer by talking to them. What a noble mission?Series of questions came in after words. What the youth can do to remove the corruption? was one of the question. Here I gave my experience at Adichunchunagari Mutt, when I addressed 50,000 students and 1000s of parents in the presence of spiritual leaders and political leaders in 2005. After my address on vision 2020, one girl Bhavani got up, shesaid, she is studying bio-science in 10+1, and she would like to know from me and the leaders sitting on the dais, what actions youth should do to remove corruption, so that we can live in a corruption free society. The funds allotted for development can reach thecitizens fully. Answer to this question really was not coming forth from any quarters, but I had to answer. I told, dear Bhavani, your question is very important in the present context of the nation. You know, we are one billion population. We live in 200 million homes. It is estimated that 30% of the homes may be corrupt, that means 60 million homes are corrupt. Each home has on an average 5 members: Father, mother, two sons + one daughter orparents + two daughters + one son. Now I have got a question for you Bhavani. In case your parents, particularly your father is unfortunately corrupt, will you go to your father and say Father, please stop corruption – Our scriptures will not allow that, our teacher taught us Will you say this to your father? There was pin drop silence. Then a surprise. Nearly all the children got up, they all said in chorus, we can do it. We will stop our parents if they arecorrupt. I couldnt believe this. Of course, I turned to parents where 1000s of them were sitting. I particularly asked the mothers. How will you react to your daughter or son coming to you and saying that you should stop corrupt actions. After some thought, the mothergave the following statement:
Mr. Kalam, so far no one has asked such a directed question. But I want to tell you one thing on behalf of womanhood that Daughter or son, have got a unique relationship with parents. They have a great and grand tool that is mutual love and affection. If our child comes and tells us that we are corrupt, it is a great insult to me and my husband. We haveto change, we have to change, we have to change. Then the whole gathering took an oath.
I will lead an honest life free from all corruption and will set an example for others to adopt a transparent way of life.
I asked the youth of Pune on 15 Jan 2009, what is your reaction? They said, we would like to take the same oath and abide by it. The entire hall reverberated when they took the oath. Then I realized the vision 2020 of transforming India into a developed nation definitely will succeed with such a committed youth power.
One young man once asked our Role Model APJ abdul KALAM a question, “Mr President, please tell me, since you have flown in the supersonic fighter aircraft at the age of 74, were you afraid anytime during the flight.” I told the young man, “All the 40 minutes of the flight, I was busy on the controls and instruments and experiencing the”g” build up. I was advised by the captain to track targets and also look at the ground using the synthetic aperture radar. In addition, I was observing the performance of the instruments developed indigenously. I was continuously busy in the flight operations and I didn’t have time to allow fear to enter into me.” Now, dear young friends who have assembled in front of me and the nation, I have a message of Courage for you.
“Courage to Give’
Courage to think different,
Courage to invent,
Courage to discover the impossible,
Courage to travel into an unexplored path,
Courage to share knowledge
Courage to remove pain
Courage to reach the unreached
Courage to combat problems
And Succeed,
Are the unique qualities of youth.”

SAAF HO
JAMMU TO SWACH AUR TANDRUSAT RAHE HUMARA PYARA JAMMU
and making
various campaigns successful and effective.
Apne aspas ped lagao, hara banao
desh ko untee ke shikhar par lao
Some of the works DPYSHW has to take care of:-
1.Sanitation:-
> Say NO to Plastic (or Minimum usage of Plastic or polythene Bags)
> Say NO to Chemicals
> Sanitation Of Localities.
>Dustbins should be provided at every locality.
>A law should be made to pass in the parliament that every house throw their garbage into the dustbins and if someone found guilty has to face the stringent actions.
2.Health:-
>AIDS awareness camp
>Say No to Alcohol
>cigarette Smoking shud be banned on public places
>organising Blood donation camps
3.Pollution Control:-
a.Tree Plantation
bDevelopment should not be at the cost of trees
c.Pollution from factories should be check regularly as per the ISO standards
d.Proper Exit Of Sewage.
e.Prevent different rivers from their extinction
Few of the rivers and lakes which are on the verge of extinction if we didnt take care of them sooner, otherwise its too late. the circumference of lake is decreasing day by day and one can see a lot of kachra around the river.
People these days are in love with concrete and cover every spare inch of ground in their houses with cement. It’d be much better if they let the ground uncovered and plant a few trees. It’d help in many ways:
Direct benefits for home owners:
1) Trees provide shade It’ll help in cutting down use of coolers, acs, fans, expensive sun-blocking window glass. Upto 50% of energy savings are possible
2) More aesthetically pleasing/pleasing to eyes
3) You can use waste water on plants
4) If its a fruit tree, you can have free and pesticide free fruit of your own. Indian trees like neem, mango have numerous medicinal applications.
5) If you hate the clutter of leaves, you can just sweep them up and put them up near the roots. it certainly better than sweeping the concrete covered ground every day
6) The physical bulk of trees dulls or soften sound waves that attempt to pass through them.
7) Provide shelter from rain and intercept a large amount of rain water from flooding sewers and streets.
Adds to the sales price of the property.
Benfits to community
1) Cleaner air and most effective way of combating rising levels of CO2.
2) Habitat for birds and small animals.
3) Prevention of soil erosion.
4) Retention of rain water and recharging of ground water.
5) Planting trees along roads helps in preventing overheating of roads and increases their lifespan by years.
6) Trees along road can act as buffer between vehicles and pedestrians.
7) Hospital patients with a view of trees out their windows recover much faster and with fewer complications than similar patients without such views.
Benefits of not covering ground with concrete:
1) Concrete heats up much faster and retains heat , thereby making sorroundings much hotter as compared to normal ground
2) Any amount of water on concrete will just stagnate and breed mosquitoes or will run off to sewer/drains causing overflow. Compared to this, soil can absorb water that will help in keeping ground water level high
3) Concrete covered ground needs regular cleaning/sweeping and is always less pleasing to the eyes
4) You can harvest rain water at minimal cost
5) Grass covered ground is a much safer and practicalplace for kids to play. Walking or running on hard concrete or roads has harmful effect on knees and ankles.
6) Pets will always prefer grass to anything else.
Every little step counts.
Some of the activities DPYSCW has to take care of :-
1.Art and Culture
>Awaring people abt Dogra culture
>Motivating People to Use Dogri as their common language(which Hardly Ppl do now a days)
>Bring back the glory which dogri language wants
>A Dogri channel (Difficult But not Impossible)
>Organise different Dogri functions like Jammu festival.
>prevent our heritage from extinction as we lost the chenani mahal, purmandal mahal nd many others.
2.Political Awareness
>Create awareness among masses specially youth that politics is not a bad game.
>Unite Jammuities and make their voice heard at higher level.
>Fight against corruption
Jai Jammu.

Importance of Mother tongue
18Mother ,the word which is very hard to describe in few words. Even Wikipedia, the biggest online Encyclopedia is confused about the exact definition of this word, As per Wikipedia,A mother is a biological and/or social female parent of an offspring. Wikipedia continues, Because of the complexity and differences of a mothers’ social, cultural, and religious definitions and roles, it is challenging to define a mother to suit a universally accepted definition.
And As per Oxford the Language means ?
1. The method of human communication, either spoken or written, consisting of the use of words in a structured and conventional way.
2. The system of communication used by a particular community or country. And almost after every some kms of walk one can find the different language had been used by the localites
In short,I want to say there is a link between the mother and language/mothertongue.
As you people might have heard about the story of a teenaged guy who has called GOD to know about the importance of a Mother.
The story goes like this:-
A teenage boy asked his mother that why is she crying and her mother gave an answer that because “She is a woman”
But boy didn’t understand what exactly is she trying to say,so he asks her mother that he doesn’t Understand.
His Mom just hugged him and said,
“And you never will, but that’s O.K.”
Later the little boy asked his father,
“Why does Mom seem to cry for no reason?”.
“All women cry for no reason,” was all his Dad could say…
The little boy grew up and became a man,
still wondering why women cry.
Finally he put in a call to God and when God got back to him, he asked “God, why do women cry so easily?”
GOD answered… ..
“When I made woman,
I decided she had to be special.
I made her shoulders
strong enough to carry
the weight of the world, yet,
made her arms gentle enough to give comfort…
I gave her the inner strength
to endure childbirth
and the rejection
that many times will come
even from her own children.
I gave her a hardness
that allows her
to keep going and take care
of her family and friends,
even when everyone else gives up, through sickness and fatigue without
complaining. …
I gave her the sensitivity to love her children under any and all
circumstances. Even when her child has hurt her badly.
And same is the case with the Importance of a mother tongue. The mother tongue is the true vehicle of the mother wit.
Another medium of speech may bring with it a current of new ideas. But the mother tongue is one in which a man is born. A man’s native speech is almost like his shadow, inseparable from his personality but in last few years, mother tongue is losing importance day by day and after few years I have doubt that very little person may even talk in mother tongue ( specially so called the urban and modern population). Indians, these days preferred to use English instead of Hindi citing the reason that English gives them more exposure and easy to get a job.Britishers left India some 60 years back but still we shy to use our mother tongue freely.
Is it the real freedom or only a physical freedom?Arent you people feel that still we are mentally slaves of Britishers? May be its an effect of globalization but still many European countries and many other developed countries like China,Russia,Japan etc. are maintaining their own language very well. But in India,we Indians are doing our best to disrespect our mothertongue by giving very stupid excuses that for a development of India we have to use English Language. If those countries(non-english) can developed,Why cant India?
Someone once said that When the whole world is switching over to English, Mr. Vajpayee has shown disrespect to it by addressing the U.N. in Hindi, which no other Indian PM had dared to so far. Leaders of many countries such as China, Japan, Russia, France, Germany and Spain address the international forums in their own national language. Do they all disrespect English by doing so?
But we Indians always give an excuse that for the better development Of India we need to use English. Why so? But still there are many states in India like Maharashtra,Gujarat,Karnataka and whole of south India prefers their mothertongue.Arent the South India is more developed as compared to North India? And if we compare Jammu(so called educated, urban, modern society of Jammu) with other cities, its very shameful that we cant even standup with them in giving repect to our mothertongue.
As per UNESCO,a research have shown that children who begin their education in their mother tongue make a better start, and continue to perform better, than those for whom school starts with a new language. The same applies to adults seeking to become literate. This conclusion is now widely implemented, although we still hear of governments that insist on imposing a foreign language of instruction on young children, either in a mistaken attempt at modernity or to express the pre-eminence of a social dominant group.
Few lines of Mahatma Gandhi:-Polak and I had often very heated discussion about the desirability or otherwise of giving the children an English education. It has always been my conviction that Indian parents who train their children to think and talkin English from their infancy betray their children and their country. They deprive them of the spiritual and social heritage of the nation, and render them to that extent unfit for the service of the country. Having these convictions, I made a point of always talking to my children in Gujarati. Polak never liked it. He thought I was spoiling their future. He contended, with all the vigour and love at his command, that, if children were to learn universal language like English from infancy, they would easily gain considerable advantage over others in the race of life. He failed to convince me.
As per Maharishi Mahesh Yogi,(who introduced the Transcedental Meditation technique and related programs and initiatives, including schools and universities with campuses in several countries including India, United States, Mexico, United Kingdom and China) Mother tongue is the Language of Nature, which is intimately related to the individual because it is structured and upheld by local Laws of Nature, which structure the physiology of the individual. Vedic Language is the Language of Nature, which is structured and upheld by the universal Laws of Nature, which are the common basis of all the physiological structures in the universe.
This means that there is a direct relationship of the whole with the part — between the mother tongue and the Vedic Language. This means that mother tongue is the closest to the Vedic Language.?
But my question here to every single Dogra is that When we start giving respect and importance to our mother tongue. Do we realize how important the mother tongue is? Without language you would have to talk to one another by means of signs. If you had a headache and you wanted to tell your mother about it, you would have to use signs, such as pointing to your head, or your eyes. You mother would not be able to tell at once if you meant you had a headache or your eyes hurt you. And the problem is with us that we prefer to use other languages instead of our mother tongue. Why step motherly behavior with our mothertongue whichever it is Dogri,Gojri,Pahadi,Poonchi,Kishtwari etc.?Is it so because our mothertongue too doesn’t demand anything from their speakers but use to cry from inside.
Its really a shame for the Sons(speakers) like us who treat our mother language as their step mother language. We don’t deserve to be live in that place where we don’t have any respect for our mother language and motherland.Do we?
Thanks.
Jammu Kashmir Police
3As per Oxford Dictionary, the word Police defined as
A Civil force responsible for the prevention and detection of crime and the maintenance of public order
Now lets talk little bit about the working of police in India.
First of all lets have Some of their Slogans of these state police which they Hardly follow:-
1.Delhi Police-Citizens First.
2.Mumbai Police-Custodians of your Trust.
3.Punjab Police:-Police to its Last Particle is Duty.
4.UP Police:-Humara Dharam Apki Suraksha
5.JK Police:-A Saga of Sacrifice and Courage.
All these slogans of these state polices are only Gimmicks,Nothing else.Once my friend from UK told me that the difference between Police in India and Police in UK is that in India, the Indian Police is like
Far the people,Bye the people and Off the people
But in UK it is like By the people,Of the people and For the people.People in UK wants to register their complaints as much as they can but here in India people try to avoid the Police and if some one registers a complaint,he has to visit the police station around 1000 times and sometimes even whole of his life and the worst thing is that everytime the person has to bribe these policemen.
Now lets talk about JKP(Jammu Kashmir Police).Yesterday when I was coming from Jammu to Udhampur.I saw an accident on the national highway NH-1A.The car was totally smashed by an Army vehicle,One was died and 3 others were badly injured. These 3 injured persons were crying for help but no one there wants to help them. There were around 200-300 army men surrounding them and was busy in watching Tamasha and was waiting for JKP(who believes in A Saga of Sacrifice and Courage.),but no one is willing to help them just because of our great system where one has to file FIR before getting any treatment and no one wants to be involved in this corrupt police system too, where one has to visit the police station every single day.Does the person who help that particular guy done something wrong or what?.
Although I dont know that some volunteer really comes out and help them or everyone was waiting for Police to come and then take them to some Hospital for treatment.I pray that those three injured persons must be getting good treatment and will get well soon.Because me too ran away from the site because our system suggests me so.
I was stuck there in the Traffic Jam for around about 15 minutes but I hadnt seen that any police person comes to the spot and must be that accident had taken place some 15-20 minutes back. I dont know that when they exactly arrived but I am very much sure that they hadnt reached before atleast an hour. And the irony is that just few Kms away there is a police station as well. Were they waiting for someone to bribe them before they reached the spot or they were busy in watching some TV or maybe busy in handling the security of some VIPs.
If the same incident will ever happens to these so called VIPs instead of common people,do these policepersons had taken so much time to reach the spot?
Do helping someone in this scenario is crime for the Police in India or what?
Why just one visit to police station is not more than enough? The only option the guy(who helped the injured persons) in India is having that he has to bribe these policemen to get rid of all these things.
Does our system lacks something or these policepersons only need money money and money?
Why cant we give them treatment first and they do all these formalities later on?
Do these formalities are more important than the life of a person?
I had visited many places in India but the way JKP works, no other state police works. The most corrupt state police i had ever seen.Although I have heard that the JKP still lot better than UP and Bihar Police,on which i realy doubt. But Jammu Kashmir Police has to be always on their toes because of the millitancy problems. But they are busy in giving security to persons like Shabbir Shah (who always talks of Pakistan and abuses India a lot),politicians etc.
Why nothing for common masses,Why only demand of money from them and that too undertable?
What about your slogan”A Saga of Sacrifice and Courage”?Most of your Duties has to be done by the Indian Army, if there is some law and order problem takes place then they have to come out and help you people which is common these days in Kashmir Valley.
What sacrifice and courage does Jammu Kashmir Police talking about.
